Community Legal Services

NEW CLIENT INTAKE APPOINTMENTS:
As the academic year comes to an end and students enter into the exam period, Community Legal Services has stopped booking intake appointments for new clients. We will begin accepting new clients again when our summer term begins in mid May. In the interim, visit our external legal resources page for a list of agencies that may be able to assist you. If you are in immediate danger or distress, call 911.

EXISTING CLIENTS: Your caseworker will be in touch with you shortly with information regarding the status and transfer of your file to a new summer caseworker. Rest assured that our office will remain open during the exam period. If you need immediate assistance, please call 519-661-3352 and our staff will be pleased to assist.

PLEASE NOTE:
Walk-ins are not accepted, and notarial services are not available.

Updated February 3, 2025.

Community Legal Services (CLS) is both a community legal clinic and a clinical education program, operated by the Faculty of Law at Western University and funded by Legal Aid Ontario, the Law Foundation of Ontario, Fanshawe Student Union, and Western's University Students Council and Faculty of Law.

CLS provides free legal services to low-income people in the London community and to Fanshawe College and Western University students. Services are provided by law students who work under the supervision of experienced staff lawyers.

Please note: Due to provincial funding cuts, services have decreased. CLS is no longer offering Wills, Powers of Attorney, Immigration Services or Criminal Injury Compensation Board (CICB) assistance, and have reduced current Criminal Law services.
